PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN MAHASISWA TENTANG HAKI DI LINGKUNGAN INSTITUT MARITIM PRASETIYA MANDIRI (IMPM)

Abstract

This socialization activity was attended by the students/Prasetiya Mandiri Maritime Institute (IMPM) Lampung who will receive exposure to several materials related to Intellectual Property Rights from several speakers, including lecturers of the Prasetiya Mandiri Maritime Institute (IMPM) Lampung, the protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) is important in the creative and innovative world. In this digital era, the need for an understanding of IPR is increasingly urgent, especially for the younger generation such as students/ Prasetiya Mandiri Maritime Institute (IMPM) Lampung.. The socialization about IPR aimed at students/Prasetiya Mandiri Maritime Institute (IMPM) Lampung through this PKM activity aims to increase their understanding of the importance of protecting intellectual works and respecting the rights of others and aims to provide a basic understanding of the meaning and importance of protecting copyrights, patents, trademarks, and other forms of IPR. This will harm the party who should get his rights if a dispute arises in the future. Trademark Legal Protection in Indonesia takes effect after the registration of the Trademark to the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights, more precisely when the Application is granted by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights, then the legal protection of the trademark that has been received has come into effect and where the legal protection is in accordance with the trademark as shown in the application. This service was carried out by providing counseling on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) socialization activities at the Prasetiya Mandiri Maritime Institute (IMPM) Lampung, so that students can understand and know about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), as well as the process or procedure for issuing IPR. The still low protection of IPR for SME products needs to be strengthened to protect the ownership rights of inventors on the recognition of other parties.Therefore, it is necessary to carry out community service activities in the form of socialization and counseling about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to students so that they better understand and know the procedures and procedures for the issuance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The activity was carried out by socializing students of the Lampung Prasetiya Mandiri Maritime Institute (IMPM). The output of this community service activity is the journal of the National Institute of Maritime Prasetiya Mandiri (IMPM) Lampung.
